A zip tie, also known as a cable tie, is a type of fastener for holding items together, primarily electrical cables. It is a strip of flexible plastic with teeth on one side and a locking mechanism on the other. Once the zip tie is tightened, the teeth on the strip engage with the locking mechanism, preventing the tie from being loosened. Zip ties are often used in place of traditional fasteners such as nails or screws, as they are easy to use, inexpensive, and can be cut to any length.
There are several different ways to untie a zip tie. One method is to use a pair of scissors or a knife to cut the tie. Another method is to use a small screwdriver or other thin object to pry the locking mechanism open. If the zip tie is made of a soft material, it may be possible to simply pull the tie apart with your hands.
